Standard ADSL

Connection Type:PPPoA (RFC 2364)

Encapsulation:VC-Mux
Username:Your ADSL username
Password:Your ADSL password

Alternative Settings

Connection Type:PPPoE (RFC 2516)
VPI:0
VCI:38
Encapsulation:LLC
Note: Try PPPoA first. Use PPPoE if PPPoA doesn't work with your router.

Step-by-Step Setup

Follow these steps to configure your router

Physical Setup

  • • Connect router to phone line
  • • Install microfilters on all phones
  • • Connect computer to router
  • • Power on router and wait for sync

Access Router

  • • Open web browser
  • • Navigate to 192.168.1.1
  • • Login with admin credentials
  • • Find WAN/Internet settings

Configure Connection

  • • Set connection type to PPPoA
  • • Enter VPI: 0, VCI: 38
  • • Set encapsulation to VC-Mux
  • • Enter username and password

Troubleshooting Tips

Connection Won't Establish

  • Double-check username and password
  • Try PPPoE instead of PPPoA
  • Verify VPI/VCI settings are correct
  • Check ADSL sync light is solid

Slow Speeds or Dropouts

  • Check line statistics in router
  • Ensure all phone extensions have filters
  • Test with router connected directly to master socket
  • Check for electrical interference sources
